In RAC0219's seed, we got more than a bit off-topic. I'd asked this question there, but, per his request to stay on-topic, I'm bringing it here.
Can someone please explain to me why some people of faith think it's appropriate for them to demand that EVERYONE follow the tenants of that faith? It's something that's bothered me for a long time... If someone wants me to respect their faith and beliefs, I expect THEM to respect MINE. (Respect, in this sense, does not mean follow, it means more of a "you live your life, I'll live mine" kind of thing.)
CoH, please. Matters of faith are likely to be discussed here, and I will insist upon and enforce that they be handled with respect. You are more than welcome to discuss your beliefs, however, insisting that someone else's beliefs are wrong (so long as we're talking about beliefs which don't break the law, human sacrifice is right out) will not be tolerated. Tread lightly, please, this territory is tender for some.
